I Toured 25 Cancun All-Inclusive Resorts in 10 Days: My Honest Take on Each One

I Toured 25 Cancun All-Inclusive Resorts in 10 Days: My Honest Take on Each One

Ten days, 25 resort tour stops, and a lot to compare. I toured properties across Cancun, Costa Mujeres, Playa Mujeres, and the Riviera Maya, looking at each through my travel-advisor lens: who might love it, and what kind of trip it could suit.

A quick note on my “honest take”: these are short, high-level impressions, not a room-by-room review or a promise that every amenity will fit every traveler. Resort offerings and inclusions can change, so I’ll confirm the details for your dates before helping you choose.

And one itinerary note: two stops included paired properties (the Impression and Secrets Moxché resorts, and Iberostar Maya Suites and Lindo) so I’ve grouped each pair below.

Resort tour recap

1. Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres

My quick take: a strong option to consider if you’re after an adults-only, romantic escape. I’d put it on a shortlist for couples and honeymooners who want a quieter-feeling trip.

I have planned several destination weddings at Secrets Playa Blanca, and I absolutely love this resort as a wedding venue — it’s my personal pick of the tour for couples considering a celebration here.

2. Planet Hollywood Cancun

This is worth a look if you want your resort stay to feel lively and entertainment-led. Families, friend groups, and travelers who like a playful atmosphere may find the concept especially appealing.

3. Hotel Riu Palace Costa Mujeres

I’d consider this for travelers who want a broadly appealing resort with options for both couples and families. It may suit a group with different vacation styles better than a narrowly themed getaway.

4. Grand Palladium Select Costa Mujeres

This property belongs on the list for travelers who like a resort experience with plenty to explore. Families and groups may want to compare its setup with the adjoining adults-only option, TRS Coral.

5. TRS Coral Hotel

My quick take: a couples- and adults-focused counterpart to consider if you prefer a more grown-up getaway. It could suit couples or friends traveling together who want an adults-only setting.

6. Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort

This is another romantic adults-only option from Secrets, a brand many couples ask me about when searching for Secrets resorts all inclusive. I’d compare it with Secrets Playa Blanca based on the atmosphere and location you want.

7. Hotel Riu Latino

For couples or friends who want an adults-only trip with an energetic edge, Riu Latino is one to explore. I’d compare it with quieter adults-only resorts if downtime is your main priority.

8. Ocean Allure Costa Mujeres

This adults-only resort could be a fit for couples, friend groups, or solo travelers looking for a contemporary all-inclusive option. If you’re comparing Caribbean all-inclusive resorts, consider whether you want a social, activity-filled stay or a more restful one.

9. Hyatt Zilara Cancun

I’d include this in a couples’ or honeymoon shortlist if you want an adults-only Cancun stay. It’s also a useful comparison point for travelers deciding between a hotel-zone-style Cancun trip and resorts farther along the coast.

10. AVA Resort Cancun

This is one to consider for families or multigenerational groups who want a resort designed to appeal to different ages. I’d ask about the specific experiences and inclusions that matter most to your group before comparing it with other family-focused properties.

11. Grand Hyatt Cancun

This one needs a current-status and package check before I’d compare it directly with established all-inclusive resorts. If it’s on your list, I’ll verify what’s operating and what’s included for your travel dates.

12. Hyatt Vivid Grand Island

I’d consider this for adults who want a contemporary, social-feeling trip rather than a traditional family-resort stay. Couples and friends can compare it with the area’s more romantic or quieter adults-only options.

13. UNICO 20°87° Hotel Riviera Maya

UNICO may appeal to couples and adults looking for a design- and destination-focused escape. I’d shortlist it for travelers who want their resort choice to feel like part of the trip, not just a place to sleep between activities.

14. Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya

This is a natural one to explore if you like a music- and entertainment-led vacation. Families, couples, and groups should compare the resort’s different areas and experiences to see which setup best matches their plans.

15. The Fives

The Fives is worth comparing if you want a resort stay that can feel flexible for couples, families, or friends. I’d check the exact package and inclusions, since options can differ by booking.

16. Grand Velas Riviera Maya

I’d add Grand Velas to a luxury shortlist for families, couples, and celebrations. Its different resort experiences make it especially worth discussing if your group wants upscale service but doesn’t all want the same type of vacation.

17. Le Blanc Spa Resort Cancun

For couples, honeymooners, or travelers planning a milestone trip, Le Blanc is one to consider for an adults-only luxury escape. I’d compare it with other high-end options based on your priorities for service, wellness, and overall atmosphere.

18. Royalton CHIC Cancun

This adults-only option could suit friends or couples who want a more social, stylish vacation. If you’re choosing between lively and laid-back, I’d make that the first question to answer.

19. ATELIER Playa Mujeres

I’d consider ATELIER for couples and travelers drawn to contemporary design and an adults-only stay. It may also be worth a look for wedding or celebration travel where the group wants an elevated resort setting.

20. Moon Palace The Grand Cancun

This is one to compare for families and multigenerational groups who want a large resort with lots of built-in activity options. I’d help narrow down whether the scale and range of experiences match your group’s vacation style.

21. Dreams Sapphire Resort & Spa

Dreams Sapphire is a family-friendly option to consider, while still giving couples a resort setting to enjoy. I’d look at it for family vacations where the adults and kids need different ways to spend the day.

22. Impression Moxché by Secrets and Secrets Moxché Playa del Carmen

These two adults-only resorts make a useful side-by-side comparison for couples and honeymooners. I’d explore Impression for a more elevated, personalized trip and Secrets Moxché for a romantic resort stay, then verify the current differences and inclusions for your dates.

23. Iberostar Selection Paraíso Maya Suites and Paraíso Lindo

I’m grouping these together as one stop on the tour, but they’re two hotels to compare within the wider resort complex. Families may appreciate having multiple options to explore; I’d confirm which facilities and benefits are available with each booking.

24. Live Aqua Cancun

This is one to consider if you want an adults-only Cancun stay with a calmer, more wellness-minded feel. Couples and honeymooners can compare it with livelier options if they’re deciding how much activity they want around them.

25. Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancun

I’d keep this on the shortlist for travelers who want an upscale Cancun stay that can work for couples or families. Its location and resort style make it a useful comparison against properties farther from Cancun’s main hotel area.

How I’d narrow down the options

Start with your travel group: adults-only, family, friends, or wedding guests. Then decide what matters most: quiet time, a social atmosphere, a family-friendly setup, a special-occasion feel, or a specific location.

From there, compare a few resorts at a time. For example, I can help you weigh the Secrets resorts all inclusive options against other adults-only stays, or narrow a family search to properties with the right mix of activities and downtime. Before booking, I’ll also check the current resort details and inclusions for your dates.
